Grade 1 Rockschool @rslawards piece. Great classic song by Sam and Dave with Booker T and the M.G.s as the backing band. Al Jackson Jr really laying down the groove on this version.

One of my favourite drummers of all time Steve Jordan played on the Blues Brothers version. I’ve watched a interview with him saying he can’t listen to the version he played on as he feels he played too much and that the version is too fast stating that if he had known more about the blues like he knows now he would have played differently.

A perfect example of why drummers need to not only know the history of the drum kit but the history of different genres. Only when you know this can you play authentically. Also a great lesson on how to be human. The way Steve can admit his mistakes is truly humbling and goes to show even the greats can get it wrong sometimes.
